Two questions about the medication Wellbutrin?
    1) Does it really not have any sexual side effects and actually enhance your libido

    2) And can it be used for OCD.

    1. Rickydotcom

Wellbutrin (bupropion) is FDA approved for two major uses: Depression, Smoking Cessation (as Zyban). Its off-label uses include: Weight Loss, Bipolar Depression, ADD/ADHD, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Chronic Fatigue, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Headaches, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Although SSRis are being used for OCD treatment, bupropion has not been used extensively for OCD, yet it may prove beneficial in some patients.

Bupropion has shown to cause fewer sexual side effects in men than other antidepressants and has been used in combination with other antidepressants to counteract decreased libido in men. There have been extensive reports that bupropion has actually increased sexual libido in women. The manufacturer at one point was considering pursuing tests to market the drug as an actual (they and I hestitate to use the word) female sexual enhancer, but the seizure problems prevented this from occuring. Imagine the market for a pill that could make women horny!

I personally have been on Wellbutrin XR for 6 months now for depression without any sexual effects – good or bad.

Please see the second link for more info on bupropion and sex.

      I hope this helps.

What does lupus do to the different organs of the body, and what would the symptoms include.?
One of the characters in a story I am writing is dieing of lupus in the early 1940’s. Her character is suppose to have had flares of the disease for years and years, but the disease is becoming more and more serious until a point where she is so weak she can barely walk. Is that far-fetched?

I attended a funeral for a member of my lupus support group. She was 36 and died of a stroke. She had antiphospholipid antibody syndrome that often occurs with lupus.

Half of us will have kidney disease. There is a woman with lupus in my apartment complex whose kidneys have totally failed. The doctors have stated that she would most likely not survive a transplant. She is on dialysis 3 times a week. The lupus nephritis will ultimately kill her.

I know a man whose wife died from lupus when it attacked her liver.

A young woman I know died of lupus kidney disease while waiting for her third transplant.

I nearly died from lupus in 2003. I had bone marrow failure, pancytopenic anemia, pericarditis (very common in lupus), pleurisy and pleural effusions (also very common), and beginning renal failure.

As recently as 20 years ago, a diagnosis of lupus was considered a death sentence.

The meds we take to try and control the lupus have some nasty side effects. I know two lupus patients who have had avascular necrosis of the hips from high doses of steroids. Both women have had both hips replaced. One was only 22 at the time. Many of the immunosuppressive drugs we take for the more serious cases predispose us to cancer because they suppress tumor necrosis factor.

90-95% of lupus patients have joint pain and inflammation. At my worst, I could not even stand to shower.

PS My lupus is well controlled now through a combination of medications, regular medical monitoring, and a very proactive approach to managing the disease.

PPS I think your character is dying not dieing. And her character is “supposed” not “suppose” to have had flares. You might want to consider having someone proof read your story before you submit it anywhere.

What are artificial (silicon) breasts ?What are their side effects ?
Women having silicon breasts, do they have sensation in that part or is it just composed of dead cells ?
    Do such mamaries lactate ?

I don’t need any surgery for me 🙂

    1. Yu_pimp

Silicone breast implants are usually implanted in one of 3 ways and can be inserted either:
      1) they’re inserted through an incision on the side of the breast, near the armpit
      2) from below the breast
      3) through the nipple (ouch)

Augmented breasts definitely have sensation and they lactate because no tissue is actually removed.

There is a downside to silicone impants, and that is leakage and autoimmune disease. The silicone in the implants was once thought to be completely inert and harmless, but what noone counted on was that the body’s own immune system would see it as a threat and attack it. As more silcone leaks into the body, the immune system sees the silicone and the cellular material soaked by the silcone as foreign invaders and it attacks, effectively causing an autoimmune disease. This may be one of the triggers of diseases like lupus, arthritis, or those fatigued, sick states that are really hard to diagnose. That’s why they banned silicone implants more than a decade ago and all implants now are filled with saline (salt water).

The biggest downside to implants (from my perspective as a guy) is that while they look pretty, they don’t feel real.
