Because infection with the HSV-1 (Herpes simplex virus -1) usually occurs early in life through the asymptomatic infection of the mouth and throat, it means that a high proportion of the population are carrying the virus in its latent form. Herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 are similar in that they are simultaneously transmitted by direct contact and can sometimes cause intensely painful fluid-filled blisters, containing millions of infectious viral particles. To achieve an initial infection, the following conditions must apply: herpes simplex transport demands in body fluids (saliva, semen, fluid in the genital tract of women) or in a liquid, herpes sores. The injuries of these two types of herpes can be spread by contact with the same part of the body immediately after touching a herpes lesion.

A majority of people have been exposed to the herpes simplex virus without being aware of it, usually some time in early childhood. Preventing the virus is difficult because people can spread even if they do not have symptoms of an epidemic force. Because the chances of contracting this disease increases with the number of sexual partners is a person, limiting the number of partners is the first step towards prevention. When one partner has herpes simplex infection and the other does not, the use of condoms has been shown to decrease the chances of transmission to the uninfected partner.

During an outbreak of genital herpes, a number of measures can be taken to make the state more comfortable: wearing loose clothing, avoiding excessive heat or sunlight, keep the wound clean and Dry, cool or lukewarm tissue from the wound area for short periods of time, do not use scented soaps, sprays, deodorant or female showers and take aspirin, ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .

Sun protection important in preventing recurrences of herpes facial sun exposure often triggers this type of herpes. The sun protection factor using high protection sunscreens and other measures such as protection of lip balm are important.

The anti-viral drugs to stop the virus herpes simplex multiplying once it reaches the skin or mucous membrane, but can not eliminate the virus from its resting phase in nerve cells. Acyclovir topical or penciclovir in the form of a cream applied in the affected areas, reduce recurrent attacks of herpes simplex provided that the application is started early enough. Undecylenic acid (Castor oil derivatives) is proof of having anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties that are effective on the skin viral infections such as herpes simplex virus lysine and supplementation has been proposed as a complementary therapy for the treatment of herpes simplex. Cimetidine which common component drugs heartburn, has been shown to reduce the severity of shingles outbreaks in different cases and offered some relief from simple.

Local injuries to the face, lips, eyes or mouth, and by trauma, surgery, wind, ultraviolet light, sunburn, a cold or depression of the immune system are all well established and triggers reactivation may cause symptoms of herpes.

Both herpes simplex virus 1 and 2 produce similar symptoms, but can vary depending on the gravity on the site of infection. Symptoms of infection in the genital area, for example, include itching, painful sores and blisters (called lesions) on the genitals, fever (usually with the first appearance of blisters), fatigue, malaise, muscle pain, vaginal discharge, De difficulty or pain when you urinate, pain when you have relationships and tender or enlarged lymph nodes in the groin.

In rare cases the virus can also cause more serious infections. When the eye is struck by herpes simplex, it usually affects only one eye and occurs most often on the cornea (normally clear dome that covers the front part of the eye). Less frequently, May simplex virus also infect inside the eye (herpes Uveitis) or retina (retinitis herpes). The herpes simplex virus can also cause blood vessels to grow over the cornea, and sometimes can lead to visual impairment.

Why does google images only show the most severe/extreme pics of skin diseases?
I am talking mainly about Rosacea and Lupus (the skin rash symptoms). I don’t find this particularly useful or helpful in trying to gain a broader insight into these conditions. It doesn’t represent the varying degrees of severity of these conditions for which there are many. Does anyone else agree?

    Unexplained medical problems?
I am a 22 year old male. I have always been a little overweight since I was a child. I have a history of asthma and depression, but other than that I have always been relatively healthy. In the last few years I have noticed some changes going on. Some things have been happening that have really concerned me in one way or another. I usually attribute it to anxiety and choose to ignore it. Let me start from the beginning.

About 3 or 4 years ago I noticed some odd rashes on my skin. Brown in color, oddly shaped, but it was a consistent shape. it sometimes got lighter or darker but now it has almost disappeared. A few weeks ago I noticed some similar patches around my neck and shoulder area. I figured it was odd so I did what most other people do when they have a medical question but are too broke to go see a doctor… Web MD! I know reading that stuff will give you a panic attack just thinking about what you could have but hey, it was something. After checking some symptoms I googled some images of skin rashes hoping to match up what I had with someone else who had been diagnosed with something. I came across something that looked very similar, and it told me it was a lupus rash. I did some research and found out more about it but I figured the skin rash part of it was nothing to worry about and people just lived with it. However some new symptoms have me wondering.

Last winter was horrible for me. I don’t know what I caught but it really knocked me on my butt for about three days. I had a severe fever and fatigue, but after 3 days of rest I felt better. Unfortunately somehow I ended up with an extreme case of Bronchitis which aggravated my asthma symptoms. I started taking my asthma medication again (I had stopped for the last 5 years because I never had anymore symptoms since I was a kid) and on some nights when I felt I couldn’t breathe I also took an albuterol nebulizer and my symptoms started to improve. One day I was at my fiance’s house and some things started to happen. On top of my allergies to her cats I kept coughing because of this bronchitis I couldn’t shake. I started having chest pains which freaked me out so I drove myself to the local Emergency Room. The diagnosis was Allergy induced asthma, and bronchitis with bronchospasms. I was prescribed a steroid (prednisone) to open up my airways and sure enough I got better. However one thing I notice now is that I sometimes feel like I don’t get enough air, like I can’t breathe in deep enough. It seems to happen more when I eat a lot so I have been avoiding eating as well. This really concerns me.

I was not feeling well last night and I was searching online as usual for an answer. Out of the possible causes list of my symptoms (of about 50 different causes), up popped that name again. Lupus. Sigh.

So I did some more searching to lupus related to some of my symptoms. These result alarmed me. I read a few personal accounts where people who had tested positive for lupus were experiencing very similar symptoms to what I have been feeling. One story was of a 10 year old girl who DIED from complications to lupus and MRSA. That scared the crap out of me. My fiance is pregnant and due later this year so I really want to make sure I am around for a long time to take care of her and my child. I just started a new job and another thing that alarmed me was when I had a drug test the report said they found trace amounts of protein in my urine. Hmm. Did some searching and the cause of that was also associated with symptoms of lupus. I am away from home for 4 weeks out of the month as an over the road truck driver and I have little time to be messing around with doctor’s appointments. Do I sound crazy or do I have reason to be concerned?

Need pics for lupus vodcast. Help!?
I have to do a vodcast (podcast with pictuers) with 2-4 pictures. I have found a couple but they are all of just people with skin rashes. What other pictures can I put on there? I have tried google images searches so please do not give me a link!

Either pics (they can be cartoon drawings) or ideas of what kind of pic to get would be a great help!

    Thanks in advance!
Also if you have good ideas for music I could use those too (with or without words)

There are no pictures online of what lupus can do to your organs. There are slides of tissue samples of kidney biopsies from people who have lupus nephritis, there are speckled ANA under immunofluorescence, there are pictures of hands with Raynaud’s syndrome that often accompanies lupus, and pictures of hands that appear to be deformed as a result of lupus, there are pictures of pericarditis which can happen in lupus patients. And of course there is always House “It’s Not Lupus.” Google images will give you results for all these things.

I agree with Brian. Rumours and hearsay with a desire to hurt and dismantle someone is pernicious. And as you said once in another post, useless to defend yourself when a person’s mindset is immovable.
I can understand the Lupus rash for obvious reasons, although it was the one thing my daughter was never afflicted with severely, now and then she did have patches of dry skin that turned red and brown and were very painful and as a result she never wore dresses or skirts in the summertime so if Michael wore a glove to try and disguise his condition why does anyone have a problem with that?
He’s going to be judged no matter what facts come out to the contrary sadly
